News Wing The news programme can be dubbed as the essence of the broadcasting activities of Bangladesh Betar both in terms of public interest and public service. The hourly news programme of Bangladesh Betar constitutes the most vibrant and lengthy live broadcast of radio with editors, reporters, correspondents, translators, monitors, computer operators viewing with each other in a hectic effort to be first in reaching out to the audience with latest happenings and information.

Office of the Deputy Director General (News) 121, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue. Shah Bag, Dhaka. This office, headed by a DDG, is the administrative head of the News Wing and the Directorate of Monitoring of Bangladesh Betar. The Deputy Director General (News) keeps direct liaison with the Director General and works under the DG’s supervision and authority.

Central News Organization Bangladesh Betar Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Dhaka-1207 Central News Organization is responsible for all national and international news bulletins being broadcast from Bangladesh Betar, Dhaka. Headed by the Director of News, this organization broadcasts twenty national news bulletins from early in the morning to the mid night every day. Fifteen of them are in Bangla, while the rest are in English. One local, one commercial, one sports news bulletin, two news commentaries, (one in Bangla and one in English) are included in the bulletins, daily. Two weekly presentations namely News Review and SAARC News Bulletin (both in Bangla and in English) are also being aired from this Central News Organization. Central News Organization is also preparing two news bulletins and one news commentary in English for External Service of Bangladesh Betar everyday. The English Text of the Six language bulletins in Bangla, Hindi, Nepali, Arabic, Urdu and English by the External Service is totally edited and supplied by the Central News Organization. The wing broadcasts daily following news bulletin : Hourly Bulletins-33 Nos (From CNO and other stations): Local bulletins in Barisal, Thakurgaon, Rangamati and Bandarban were introduced during July-August 2007. Bulletins of indigenous language from Chittagong Betar-3 Nos (bulletins in tribal languages namely Chakma, Marma and Tipra are being broadcasted for the tribal communities of the Chittagong Hill Tracts). Relay of these bulletins (3 Nos) are introduced on 16th August 2007, from Bangladesh Betar, Bandarban, Rangamati and Cox’s Bazar.

News Wing 1 2 3 4 Directorate of Monitoring Bangladesh Betar Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Dhaka-1207. This Directorate, Under the Director of Monitoring, is monitoring forty-three news bulletins and news commentaries of thirteen foreign radio stations round the clock every day. A Daily Monitoring Report, is being compiled and sent to all important government offices every day by mail, hand messengers and e-mail on the basis of the Bangla programs of the leading foreign broadcasting stations. Besides, the Directorate feeds the Central News Organization for International news items for use in its hourly news bulletins
